| Come enjoy First Friday at Railroad Square Art Park...every First Friday from 6pm to 9pm. There are lots of open artist studios, awesome stores, Tasty Eats Beer Garden, food trucks, music and fun. To see current events listings please join our Facebook Page and visit our website.
Be sure to circle the Square! "New York Times" Style section calls First Friday at Railroad Square one of the Top Ten Free places to visit in Florida.
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR FIRST FRIDAY VISITORS: If possible, please park outside of Railroad Square (use lots on Railroad Ave and FAMU Way) and walk in, or arrive EARLY to access the few available parking spaces within the Park. And be aware there is still construction in the area but we are open and wanting for you to visit!!!

on First Friday....Celebrating birthday #70.....come by and have a glass of Champagne. On Friday, 10th, 2014, Celebrating the 50th anniversary of LeMoyne Center for the Visual Arts, the paintings of Ron Yrabedra and Nancy Reid Gunn will be featured at Tallahassee City Hall.....everyone is invited....opening 6PM-9 PM.

Arabian Flair's First Friday show is a must see! Belly Dancing, swords, candles, veils, and finger cymbals spice up the night. Stop by Arabian Flair Belly Dance Studio, 1033 Commercial Drive, and see what's shakin'! Arabian Flair will be holding their monthly registration for new students. Drop by and speak with their Director, Amy Renee Warrick. Basic Belly Dance classes are always open registration. Dancers interested in joining the Intermediate or Advance level classes should call Amy Renee at (850)445-7462.

Fun In February
"Make Two/Take Two"
A Valentine's Gift Workshop with Valerie Goodwin & Tana McLane
Here's your chance to make interesting, artful Valentine's gifts with two Tallahassee artists in their shared studio in Railroad Square!
On Saturday, February 1, 2014, Valerie and Tana will guide you through projects perfect for your special someone(s)! Valerie will lead a half-day workshop in making a heart-inspired mini fabric collage (a real studio art collage, themed for Valentine's Day), and Tana will lead a half-day workshop in making a copper fold-formed heart pendant or charm for a key ring. One cost covers the day and Valerie and Tana will each teach half the group the first half the day, and then switch to the other half of the group for the afternoon.
You will leave the workshop day with two pieces of artwork, guided by a working artist. They will provide the materials. Tana will also provide all the metalsmithing tools. Valerie will allow students to bring their own sewing machines and will also provide one.
Don't worry if you've never worked in these media before! This will be a fun, supportive atmosphere and you will surprise yourself!
Date: Saturday, Feb. 1 Times: 1st half of day is 10:00-noon; 2nd half of day is 1:00-3:00; wine & cheese and show & tell at 4:00 Cost: $100.00 per student for the day; all materials provided + instruction
Bring a lunch and beverage and we'll lunch about noon! We'll have chip & dip available all day, and then wine & cheese at 4!

Jan 3, 6-9pm: The first First Friday of 2014 features three solo exhibitions:
Heather Deyling, an artist from Savannah, with "CREEPER", an eye-popping, large-scale, site-specific installation;
Vermont-based artist Cayla Skillin-Brauchle, with "India Pattern Archive", a multi-media project developed during her 2012-13 Fulbright-Nehru Fellowship in Mumbai, India, that includes wall painting, live performance, drawings and video.
In the Nan Boynton Gallery is the very talented Marnie Bettridge's "Resident Artist" exhibition with fantastic multimedia and performance work.
In the 621Annex is the FSU Print Club's Prints Over Easy print cart, making screen prints on items you bring to the event. Journeyman Coffee will also be serving fab warm java brews. Happy New Year!

Railroad Square would like to announce the arrival of Further Faster Initiatives. FFI intends to design and implement thought provoking experiences that benefit youth in the panhandle area while promoting global citizenship and social activism. Several areas of interest are addressing issues that will encourage students to stay in school, as well as think about world travel as a viable opportunity. Jesse Jordan, Founder, holds a Masters degree in Counseling and has traveled to and thru 38 countries for fun and cause. His partnership with Paul Harvey, local business man and social entrepreneur, is bound to make a difference in the lives of kids that need it most. Together they have created a dynamic space that displays vibrant photography and art journals that will serve as a base of operation for their work.

Exotica Gallery is augmenting the selection of art to include aquatic art, Stand Up Paddle Boards. New boards will be on display for First Friday, and a representative from ATX SUP Boards will be on hand as a resource. We have a wide variety of boards available, including those designed specifically for yoga. Arrangements can be made for trying out the boards on the water.
