Announcing not one, but four general session presenters

The new code is here and more change is coming, in Illinois and across the country. Have you heard of green codes, stretch codes and outcome-based codes? Isaac Elnecave of the Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance will bring us news from the frontlines of thecodes evolution.

We know a lot about buildings, but research gurus argue there is a lot more to learn. Find out what they wish they knew. National residential building research expert Scott Piggof the Energy Center of Wisconsin will share his wish list of what we need to know to make buildings better.

Material science evolves constantly and so do green standards for materials. Do you ever wonder what materials you'll be using five years from now? Peter Yost of Building Green, Inc. will explore what's emerging on the materials front.

Are high performance homes worth all the hype? Are they as marketable as we once thought? As a builder whose business grew-rather than shrank-during the recent recession; Mark Wahl of Cobblestone Builders will shed some light on the status and bright future of the high performance homes market.

 Hope to see you there.

NARIGC Dues Installment Payment Program
***NEW*** Pay your dues in monthly installments!
NARIGC has instituted a new Dues Installment Payment Program for all new members and membership renewals.  The first payment, due on your renewal or join date, is $200 and will then be broken down to 11 remaining monthly payments on your credit card.  The installment agreement will be located on the back of the invoice and statement that is mailed to you.  Simply complete the form with your credit card number and return it to the office, and NARIGC will automatically debit the initial payment and subsequent monthly installments from your Credit Card.

The most important tool for a remodeling business CANNOT be purchased in a store and we need your help in our 2013 membership  drive.  Our goal is for each NARIGC member to recruit one additional company/individual to join NARIGC.

As a way for us to say thank you, for each new member (up to a total of four) you recruit to join NARIGC in 2013, we will credit $25 (up to $100) toward your 2014 membership dues.

The applicant cannot have held NARIGC membership for the last two years, and must indicate your name/company name on the application's "Sponsor" line.

Thank you for your help in introducing new companies/individuals to the benefits of NARIGC membership.

NARI Introduces VoterVoice to Keep Members Update on Government Advocacy

As you have noticed, a portion of your National dues goes towards lobbying efforts in Washington, DC.  NARI now has a new VoterVoice system that NARI will use for its government advocacy efforts.

This site allows us to provide easily accessible background on the issues that NARI is monitoring based on its Federal Advocacy Priorities. It also provides us a communication tool that allows for advocacy actions to be taken with one click.

The goal is to provide NARI members with the information they need to remain interested and engaged in NARI's government advocacy efforts.

Through the VoterVoice Website, members are able to share NARI's positions with others within the remodeling community. Through the Action Alerts, Government Affairs key contacts-who have agreed to get an additional five NARI members to take part in any NARI Calls to Action-will be able to share these actions with a click of the button.

We invite you to look around the site. Our next NARI on the Hill communication will be sent via this Website, as well.

You can access it via www.nari.org/advocacy/ga or via the Government Affairs tab on the Members Only side of NARI.org.

We welcome any feedback you may have via e-mail at gac@nari.org.
