REMEMBERING TERRIE HALL
Tips
Tips from Former Smokers star loses battle

Terrie Hall, the only person to be featured in both rounds of the CDC's Tips from Former Smokers campaign, passed away on September 16th from smoking-related cancer. She was 53.

Terrie started smoking in high school when her friends also picked up the habit. She quit in 2001 after being diagnosed with oral and throat cancers.

Terrie was involved in numerous advocacy efforts to educate young people about the dangers due to tobacco use. She gained national attention by telling her story in the Tips from Former Smokers campaign. View Terrie's campaign page.

Just this month, The Lancet reported the results of a study that showed 1.6 million quit attempts were tied to the CDC campaign. Of those, over 200,000 remained smoke-free at the end of the campaign. Learn more.
