Holiday Message from the Director
Dearest Friends and Colleagues,
As we turn our attention to the holiday season, it is with warm reflection that we look back on the many successes of the past year. It is also a time of reflection upon, and many thanks to, the dedicated advocates who made these successes possible. Nothing we have done, or will do, is possible without the concern of such a focused group of individuals and organizations. We are so fortunate to call you our partners. Just as we look forward to continued success in 2013, we look forward to the joyous holiday just ahead.
Please feel free to share this newsletter with colleagues and friends using the Forward to a Friend button or emailing a link to our Archives. Happy Holidays!

Growing State and National Trend
The adoption of a tobacco-free campus policy is a growing trend among U.S. colleges and universities. This policy provides protection from secondhand smoke exposure, creates healthier environments, and changes social norms regarding tobacco use. Currently, 608 U.S. colleges and universities have implemented a tobacco-free campus policy - 11 are in SC. To see a full list, click here. Earlier this year, the Department of Health and Human Services announced a national tobacco-free campus initiative. To learn more about this initiative, click here. SCTFC staff and Healthy SC Initiative grantees are currently working with nine SC colleges to make their campuses tobacco-free.
