SLU Art Walk

The SLU Art Walk returns for its final iteration of the year. This neighborhood-wide celebration of art will feature over 30 participating venues, including several window displays and eight Storefronts Seattle installations. Enjoy hot beverage stations set-up throughout the neighborhood, giving participants a chance to warm and fuel up between venues. The SLU Art Walk is partnering with Redeeming Soles. Bring your new or gently used shoes to Common Table at 1255 Harrison St.

Fred Hutch recruits New President and Director
Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center announced in November that it has named an internationally renowned expert in cancer genetics and precision medicine as its new president and director. D. Gary Gilliland, M.D., Ph.D., a physician-scientist with a background in academic medicine and the pharmaceutical industry, will take the helm as Fred Hutch's new leader on Jan. 2. Read more.

Mercer Street: Adaptive Signal Control and 3rd Lane Open
The third lane on eastbound Mercer Street opened in November, marking a significant milestone in the continuing Mercer corridor project, which is slated for completion in summer 2015. Also, Adaptive Signal Control (ASC) funding was secured in the City Council's 2015 budget package. Read more.
