Greetings!
For one of our Featherweight Classes, I found a vintage leaflet for sewing machine troubleshooting as well as hints for using the correct needle size to coordinate with certain types of fabric. It was helpful to see what they recommended as well as to coordinate it with present-day sewing. This month I have created a free PDF file for you to download and print the same leaflet for your own use and reference.

Last weekend was Thanksgiving and the annual tradition of sales and specials for the up and coming Christmas season. Well, we actually were spending time with family during that time so were not able to get back to the computer in time to alert you of our Cyber Monday sales! Therefore, we are alerting you now!! Be sure to take advantage of our FREE give-a-ways depending on the size of your order!
We have also added a couple of items that are New to the Shoppe. One being the Gripper and the other a hard-to-find Embroidery Set.
Let's talk about the Gripper here for a moment... There were two kinds and both work very well and I especially enjoy it when I need a "third hand" to hold something taut while I use my other two hands. Hold your pattern sheet, hold your fabric in place while you seam-rip a long run of stitches, and more... (I'm sure none of you make long runs of stitches of mistakes like I do, so you'll find other purposes, I'm sure!) Regardless, it is a very helpful tool to have and a unique gift to give that special someone - certainly a conversation piece for those who are difficult to buy for. Make them guess what it is!
Have an enjoyably festive season and when you need any Featherweight parts and accessories we hope that you remember April 1930's and all that we have to offer. We are truly grateful for you! Your Stitchery Friend, April April 1930's Sewing Shoppe |

Sometimes we will get requests as to what 1/4" foot is best. Well, quite frankly, all of them! It is truly a matter of personal preference. Some like the black guide on the side, while others want the perpendicular grid-lines. Some want more viewing area, while others prefer to use the edge of the foot. It is a trade-off of sorts, and our best advice is to order what you think you'll like best! You can always exchange it. You can see all the different styles on our Quilting Attachments Page.
