Why is Halloween so important to the Trans* community?
Halloween can be a unique holiday for trans* folks because it can give some trans* people the ability to dress as their preferred gender before actually coming out and transitioning.
Halloween can give people the ability to play with gender in a somewhat safe environment and get an idea if dressing as a different gender is something that they want to do. Historically even years ago when there were laws against cross-dressing they would be ignored on Halloween allowing many trans* people to be more active and stop hiding even if only for one night.
