 A Few Topics to Consider What you can talk about moving in to the holidays Your Family Situation? Thanksgiving, for many LGBT+ individuals is very stressful because it directly relates to family that you may have lost, may be on the fence of losing, or haven't told yet.
Are you in a safe place in life right now? Emotionally and mentally, or in a real geographical sense, are you feeling good and okay and positive? if not do you have a support structure watching over you that you are thankful for?
Who are you excited to celebrate with? If you've lost your family, or your family is accepting of your identity, who are you excited to sit at the table with and what are you excited to do?
What is your greatest accomplishment this year? Graduating from school or moving on to a better job? A Wonderful partner who might be new in your life, or some sort of fortuitous circumstance.
Consider the LGBT+ community itself and your place in it. Did you experience less discrimination this year or did you just access healthcare that will cover transition? is the community going to be there for you come thanksgiving if you have lost your family? Support groups and the people in them?
