Transgender Names: How and why we pick them.
This week on TYC we are going over name selection. Reasons for picking a name are often obvious and logical but in others it is an emotional or social act rather then one of physical change. It is also quite a process to change names officially marking it as a very important touchstone in one's transition. Much like a name changes when you choose to marry, changing your name will affect the way you perceive yourself and the way you are perceived by society.

Trans Youth Channel is an internet-based organization aiming to bridge communities of transgender teens and young adults through purely online means. This is difficult to do but a great way to help us achieve our goals of educating and providing resources for transgender youth is to donate to our cause.
Your donation will help Trans Youth Channel connect closeted online communities with local resources and Non-profits in their areas, so that all they can live happier, healthier, and more open lives!
