Where is TYC going?

Trans* Youth Channel has been going for some time now. We are now looking to move forward with our next big project! Some idea's were brought up last weekly meeting.

- Weekly support group meeting (for the public/TYC fans)

- Second blogging team (open letters to videos)

- Meet and Greet. (Getting TYC together!)

Trans Men And Women Of Color.

This week we will be talking about Transgender women and men of color. Transgender people have a difficult time dealing with dysphoria and discrimination. The USA has gotten much better as far as racial discrimination goes, Unfortunately it is still out there. Could you imagine how difficult it would be to face racial discrimination as well as gender dysphoria?

Some important things to include in your video:

-Do you think Transgender individuals who are of color have it more difficult? Or easier?

-Do you know any transgender people who are of color? Describe them.

-*To our colored bloggers* Do you find it more difficult to be transgender and colored?

-What's your advice to those who face racial discrimination as well as dysphoria.

Linking Racial Discrimination and Gender Dysphoria.

Believe it or not racial discrimination still goes on in the United states and other parts of the world to this day kids are being bullied in school for multiple reasons. The color of their skin happens to be one of those reasons. Yes we have come a long way as far as race goes which believe me is wonderful! But the transgender community is just getting started. Fact: Did you

know that over 60% of the suicides in the United States involves the LGBT community. 41% of those are transgender. Generally speaking if bullies connect things that may have nothing to do with each other. Sad fact, but people of color who are transgender probably get bullied more than those who don't.
