Join us for our awesome morning fencing clinics!  Beginners through intermediate level fencers age 8-14.

(Younger experienced fencers may participate with coach's okay.)

New fencers will learn fencing basics, experienced fencers will improve their skills.  There will be lots of fencing time and an opportunity to fence all three weapons.  Other topics covered may include armoring, refereeing, rules and tactics.

In addition to fencing, we will have warm-up games and exercises to improve balance, agility, hand-eye coordination and tactical thinking.

Battle for the Bottle?
Jan. BftB winners:
Kyle, Ian, and Evan
On the last Wednesday of the month we host our monthly Battle for the Bottle -- A friendly, informal, self-directed evening of fencing. One large pool each for foil, epee, and sabre with an age-appropriate bottle for the winner. Entry fee $10 per event includes floor fee.

The Battle is a great opportunity for our Level 3 and Adult fencers to fence with local fencers!  Next Battle is March 25th.

Register on askfred, pay at the door.

Winter Weather Reminders
Dry Shoes Please
Please, no outside shoes on the fencing floor!  Salt, sand and water can be hazardous, and makes it harder to keep the place clean.  Bring a pair of clean, dry sneakers to change into when you come to fence -- your footwork will thank you!

Winter Closing Information
We don't like to give in to the weather, but when it is necessary to close due to weather conditions, we will post announcements on our web site, face book page and answering machine, as well as sending out an email.

Fallclasses
Guide to Classes
Guide to Classes

Learn to Fence classes are for beginners -- those with little or no prior instruction in fencing.  Students will remain at the Learn to Fence level for at least two terms before moving on to Skills, in order to gain mastery of basic techniques and protocols.  Basic footwork, simple attacks and defense are covered, as are the rules and etiquette of the sport.

Skills classes are designed for students who are comfortable with the elements covered in Learn to Fence, and who are ready for more complex techniques.   This intermediate class is designed to be repeated, and even advanced level students can benefit from the technical instruction provided.

Strategy and Tactics classes are for fencers who have demonstrated a commitment to improving their skills and applying those skills in competition or recreational bouting.  A wide variety of topics will be covered, from situational bouting to tournament preparation.  Youth Level Three requires coach's approval.
