December To January
This time of year can be tricky for scheduling, with one holiday following another in rapid succession. Please double check your class schedules to familiarize yourself with the days we will not be holding classes. If you are unable to attend one of your regular classes due to holiday events or travel, remember that you can always attend another of our regularly scheduled classes as a make-up. (You can even attend two classes on same day.)

Come Fence On The 23rd and 30th
We will be closed between Christmas and New Year's, but we know you'll want to fence a bit, so we will hold Open Fencing on December 23rd and 30th. Youth fencers are encouraged to come from 6-7:30 and adult fencers from 7-9. Currently enrolled fencers may attend at no cost, for others, the usual $10 floor fee applies. Our regular schedule resumes on December 2nd.

Magician to Assist With Classes
Worcester Fencing Club welcomes Scott Dezrah Blinn to its staff. "Dez" is a professional magician and passionate fencing enthusiast with more than 10 years experience in outdoor and physical education. He was the Program Director at Camp Oceanwood in Ocean Park, ME and has experience teaching youth, families and adults. He began fencing at the University of Southern Maine's "Blade Society" and continued at "Guard Up!" in Burlington, MA. He is very excited to be assisting Coach Syd here in Worcester and is eager to start spreading the fencing bug in Central MA. Dez will be assisting with Saturday morning classes and vacation camps and clinics. |

 Winter Weather Reminders
|
Winter Closing Information
We don't like to give in to the weather, but when it is necessary to close due to weather conditions, we will post announcements on our web site, face book page and answering machine, as well as sending out an email. Dry Shoes PleasePlease, no outside shoes on the fencing floor! Salt, sand and water can be hazardous, and makes it harder to keep the place clean. Bring a pair of clean, dry sneakers to change into when you come to fence -- your footwork will thank you!
