Guide to Fall Classes
Guide to Fall Classes
Classes start the first week in September (except for daytime classes).  Class names may have changed, but there remain three basic levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced.

Learn to Fence classes are for beginners -- those with little or no prior instruction in fencing.  (Some students may benefit from repeating Learn to Fence one or more times).  Basic footwork, simple attacks and defense are covered, as are the rules and etiquette of the sport.

Skills classes are designed for students who have learned the elements of the sport covered in Learn to Fence, and who are ready for more complex techniques while continuing to master the basics.  This intermediate class can be repeated, and even advanced level students can benefit from the technical instruction provided.

Strategy and Tactics classes are for fencers who have demonstrated a commitment to improving their skills and applying those skills in competition or recreational bouting.  A wide variety of topics will be covered, from situational bouting to tournament preparation.  If you were in Doug's advanced class, attend open fencing or participate in local tournaments, this class is for you.
ThankyoudougThank You Doug!
Doug As I get ready for my first season with the Worcester Fencing Club, I'd like to take a moment to thank Doug for all the hard work he's put into the sport over the years.  I'm lucky to have the opportunity to build on his foundation and I'm excited about the future. The infrastucture at the Worcester Fencing Club is outstanding, and the camaraderie of the fencers remarkable.  I'm glad that Doug will continue to come to open fencing to whup and be whupped...
