April 26-28, 2016
The semi-annual conference on apprenticeship will be held next week. Darlene Besst and Pete Halver will attend representing our Chapter. The conference provides an educational and networking opportunity for educators and professionals to learn more about apprenticeship training. Improving the quality of training statewide through a balance of policies, and sharing ideas and methods of information relative to union apprenticeship within the State of California is the theme. Many IBEW/NECA apprenticeship directors and their staff will be present at our booth to promote union electrical apprenticeship, IBEW and NECA.

ELECTRI International Researchers Seek Assistance from NECA Contractors
As part of their ELECTRI-sponsored research project, "Identifying BIM-Related Costs Due to Design Changes," Hisham Said of Santa Clara University and Justin Reginato of California State University, Sacramento, are conducting a survey to assess the extent of BIM, prefabrication, engineering and Trimble use among specialty contractors and, specifically, how each of those is impacted by directed design changes.

Said and Reginato would like ELECTRI and NECA members to participate in the survey, or forward this message to a BIM professional at their company and urge them to complete the survey. The survey should only take a few minutes and will yield insightful data that will be shared at the ELECTRI International mid-year meeting scheduled in Napa, Ca. Complete the Survey here.

Safety Fair Class Updates
Kaiser - Life Care Planning
Have you ever thought about who would speak for you if you were unable?  Advance Care Planning is for everyone!

Join us at the Safety Fair for an educational event on Advance Care Planning and learn how to select a health care agent who would be your spokesperson in the event of an unexpected accident or illness. Planning ahead includes sharing with your agent what you value most in life and treatments you would want if you couldn't speak for yourself. A well informed agent helps ensure your wishes are respected if there ever is a time in which they are asked to speak for you.

More information is available on kp.org/lifecareplan. You can sign up for the Life Care Planning class by registering to attend the Safety Fair.
