NECA Alternative Dispute Resolution Program
Workers' Comp Option
Is your workers' comp insurance up for renewal? If so, you might want to consider the NECA/IBEW Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) program. Any California NECA Member in good standing may use the NECA ADR program with any participating insurance carrier. The ADR program typically lowers the cost of claims, and over time, reduces the cost of your workers' comp insurance. Click here for more information on the NECA/IBEW Alternative Dispute Resolution program. Click here for additional information.

2016 Safety Calendar
Sponsorship Opportunity
It's that time again! Plans are underway for the sixth edition of the IBEW 595/NorCal NECA Joint Safety Committee's annual calendar. Artwork for the calendar was submitted by IBEW 595 members and their families who exhibited their creative talents at the annual IBEW 595 picnic. Once complete, the calendar is distributed to NorCal NECA members, IBEW members, general contractors, building officials, local elected officials, and various other business groups and individuals associated with NECA and the IBEW. Sponsorships are available for this popular publication to help defray costs associated with printing and distribution. Cost to sponsor a month is $500 and includes your company logo and contact information. Sponsorships are available on a first come basis and we're hoping to have them finalized by September 25, 2015. If you are interested in this terrific opportunity, contact Kellie Perfetto at IBEW Local 595, (925) 556-0595.

Fall General Member Meeting
& Awards Presentations
The Chapter held its annual Fall General Member Meeting and Awards dinner last week at the Palm Event Center in Pleasanton. Over 100 attended the event, networking with peers and making new acquaintances. We were honored to have special guest Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf in attendance. Mayor Schaaf spoke about jobs, infrastructure and strong business growth, which is currently thriving in Oakland. She also touched briefly on the state of the Oakland sports teams.

The evening began with a welcome from Executive Director Greg Armstrong. Del Monte Electric Co., Inc., was honored with a plaque for 25 years of membership with the Northern California Chapter NECA.

The third annual Marv Jensen Safety Awards, recognizing job site safety and awareness, were presented to: Leland Rogers and Rosendin Electric for the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory Computational Research & Theory Facility project; Manuel Martinez and Columbia Electric, Inc. for the BART Pedestrian Improvements project; Steven Pendersen and Silman Construction for the Tesla Motors Paint Shop Mezzanine project; and Justin Neely and Sillman Construction for the Tesla Motors S-x Assembly project. The NECA/IBEW Safety Committee motto is "Safety First=Family First," and we congratulate the teams for doing just that.

This year thirty Project Excellence Award entries were received. To keep the awards selection process fair to all of our members, projects are judged by industry professionals based on criteria including originality, aesthetics, workmanship, and difficulty of installation. We are excited to announce that eleven projects were selected to receive Project Excellence Awards. Congratulations to the following recipients:
