The NorCal NECA/IBEW Local 595 Partnering Session is this week. NECA and IBEW leaders will work through a step-by-step process of identifying the challenges confronting the local industry, develop methods of meeting these challenges, and taking advantage of opportunities for the future. We are looking at good representation from our NECA Contractors so far, but there is still room for those of you who have not yet confirmed your attendance. Alameda County DA Annual Fun-Raiser BBQ
August 20th

Alameda County District Attorney Nancy O'Malley will host her 5th Annual Summer Family Fun-Raiser BBQ on August 20, 2015, 5:30PM, at the Alameda County Fairgrounds, Pleasanton. The picnic will be in the Ivy Glen Park Picnic Area. Last year, the BBQ was a sell-out with nearly 650 in attendance.
Each year, Nancy honors individuals and organizations with the "Nancy's Hero" Award for their contributions, leadership and commitment to building safe communities and empowering individuals to achieve their best. We are pleased to announce that among this year's recipients is Tom Curran, Chair of the Alameda County ECT. Tom will be honored for the unique way in which he has helped to change or enhance lives of thousands of children, youth and families in Alameda County. Congratulations, Tom and thank you for your commitment to make a difference in Alameda County!
The Chapter will participate with a sponsorship, which includes eight tickets. Greg Armstrong and Darlene Besst will attend and welcome others to attend with them. San Francisco Public Utilities Commission
O' Shaughnessy Dam Drum Gate Automation (HH-977)

A pre-bid conference for the SFPUC's $900,000 O'Shaughnessy Dam Drum Gate Automation project will be held at 10AM on Wednesday, July 29, 3015, at 1 Lakeshore Drive, Main Dining Room, Moccasin, CA. The bid due date is August 20, 2015.
The objective of the project is to replace manually operated 18-inch valves with new control valves to allow drum gate operation by PLC based control systems. The work is to be performed in Tuolumne, CA. Click here for detailed information on the project.
The LBE subcontracting goal for this project is 5%. Both SF small and micro LBEs and SFPUC-LBEs (firms certified by the CMD) can be utilized to meet this requirement. The CMD contact is Regina Chan, 415-551-4335 rchan@sfwater.org.

IBEW Local Union 595 is holding its 3rd Annual Golf Tournament on Friday, September 11th at the Dublin Ranch Golf Course. The tournament will benefit the American Board for Child Diabetics and will be great fun. See the attached flyer at the right for event details and registration information.

Registration is open for the NECA 2015 show at the LEED-Gold-certified Moscone Center in San Francisco. Plan to attend the show and take advantage of the opportunities available in preconvention workshops, management seminars, general sessions and ceremonies. The tradeshow floor is a virtual classroom itself where you can investigate technological advances and discover industry partners eager to help you find time saving solutions.
The Chapter's room block is at the Marriott Marquis San Francisco located near the Convention Center in the SOMA District. For detailed convention information, and to plan your itinerary, visit the NECA Convention website.
Complete the attached NorCal NECA chapter registration and housing form and email before Early Bird rates expire on August 13, 2015.
