Are You A Project Manager Or A Project Witness
Wednesday, June 24
The Project Manager/Witness class scheduled in Dublin on June 25th has been cancelled. Instead, the Solano & Napa Counties Electrical Contractors Trust will hold one class in Napa on June 24th.

There is still room and time to register. Don't miss the opportunity to get your managers trained in every step of the management process vs. taking on the role of a project witness. Project Managers are a critical component for every contractor, and providing them with the foundation of management expertise will equip them to direct the entire project life cycle. Questions? Contact Juanita Mitchell  at the Chapter office.

On Anti-PLA Amendment
Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) introduced an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act that would seek to limit the use of Project Labor Agreements.  NECA supports the use of Project Labor Agreements on Federal and Federally-assisted construction and urges Congress to reject any proposed changes to current federal rules governing the utilization of PLAs. Help The Electrical Construction Industry
Take a 10-Minute Survey on Your Procurement Experiences

The successful procurement of materials to a job site relies on many factors including smooth communications, accurate orders, and productive collaborations. One strategy to achieve greater success is agile procurement.

The goal of agile procurement is to reduce job site material handling and other waste rather than focusing upon reducing the cost of materials.  In agile procurement, manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, and contractors come together to define common assumptions in terms of the business value, implementation risks, expenses (effort) and costs associated with procurement.

We invite you to take a 10 minute survey about your experiences with the procurement process, conducted by Lonny Simonian, California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Mr. Simonian is part of a joint research effort sponsored by ELECTRI International, The Foundation for Electrical Construction, Inc. and the NAED Foundation's Channel Advantage Partnership.

Your responses, compiled with those of other participants, will be extremely helpful in developing best practices and ways to utilize agile project management.
