On Friday, December 5, 2014, the Northern California Chapter, NECA held its annual Installation of Officers & Holiday Gala in the theme of Great Gatsby. This year's extended social time was much appreciated. As attendees entered they were greeted by carolers from San Ramon Valley High School's Chamber Singers with voices so exquisite fit for a museum. We were delighted to present the Gillespie Award to John Riley recognizing his dedicated years of teaching Electrical Project Supervision classes for 1832 electrician graduates. Although not in attendance Don Campbell was recognized and honored with our Meritorious Service Award for his progressive work and development of our chapter since 2003. And finally we recognized and installed new board members Mike Boehmer with HA Bowen Electric and returning board member Ron Kunkel with Signawest along with Greg Armstrong as the chapters Executive Director. We hope each of you will plan to join us next year for this fabulous event. 

Thank you to local electrical inspectors, building officials, contractors, local union representatives, NorCal NECA Staff and guests that joined us at our annual East Bay Uniform Code Committee Holiday Dinner & Social on December 9th, at the Palm Event Center in Pleasanton. All enjoyed an elegant evening of socializing, dining and lots of fun with a Photo Booth and Karaoke. An annual honor to the jurisdiction with the best and most in attendance at EBUCC meetings throughout 2014 went to the City of Oakland. In keeping with tradition, attendees generously donated food and money to the Alameda County Food Bank. Special thanks to all who participated. The Council on Industrial Relations has issued the following decision for the 9th District S&C Agreement. The three year agreement (12/1/2014 through 11/30/2017) includes the following wage and benefit package increases (to be allocated):  12/1/2014 - $1.00 (allocated to wages); 6/1/2015 - $1.00; 12/1/2015 - $2.00; and 12/1/2016 - $2.00. The holiday schedule will correspond to the holidays observed under the Inside Agreement where the work is being performed. Per diem is increased to no less than $200/day. Additional details are included in the Labor Bulletin. Download the updated cost sheet reflecting the 12/1/2014 increase. Updated labor agreements are being prepared and will be distributed soon.
