The new Christmas Exhibit, "Rock around the Decade," opened on December 1st. The Exhibit will remain until the Museum closes for the season on December 15th.
We would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year. We look forward to the opportunity to gather feedback from each of you over the next month as we plan for our 2013 activities and events.
Please share this newsletter with those who may be interested, and with those who may not even know we exist! Word of Mouth is our best publicity, so hit that forward button for us, and spread the word!

If you haven't visited Heritage Gifts, time is running out! Several items are on sale and there are many great gift ideas to choose from. Items featured in the gift shop are created in Transylvania County and selected because they represent an aspect of the heritage of the county. Books, toys, pottery, homemade soaps, aprons, quilts and crafts are just a few items in our gift shop.
Please consider doing some holiday shopping at Heritage Gifts this season. You not only can find wonderful gifts for those on your list, but can support the Museum and our local artisans at the same time.
Consider the Museum in Year End Giving
Please consider giving to the Transylvania Heritage Museum in time for the upcoming tax season. The next two months at the Museum are the most challenging of the year for us. Year end gifts from friends of the Museum would go far in starting our new year off strong.
The Transylvania Heritage Museum is a 501 (c)3 organization. The Museum provides a variety of programming both at the Museum and at other locations during the year. We work hard to make the most of the income we receive each year and donations of any size can truly impact our efforts in a big way. As 2012 comes to a close, please consider making a donation to the Museum. Checks can be made out and mailed to:

Can you guess?
This item was popular in the 1950's and still is in some places. Thanks to CopyCats Video Transfer, we have one on display during our Christmas Exhibit. Email your best guess!
November's item was a civil war era bayonet.
