Supportive Housing
U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Deputy Secretary Maurice Jones was in Chicago on Feb. 12 to award Illinois $11.98 million through the Section 811 Supportive Housing for Persons with Disabilities program.
Governor Pat Quinn was on hand to accept the significant award as part of his continued leadership to ensure persons with disabilities can live independently in the community of their choice.

Senate Bill 16
Governor Pat Quinn on Feb. 8 signed landmark legislation to fast-track foreclosures on abandoned, vacant single-family homes and multifamily buildings. The new law will invest an estimated $120 million to help more families keep their homes, and strengthen neighborhoods across Illinois.
The signing is the latest action by Governor Quinn to help working families stay in their homes, which will stabilize and grow the Illinois housing market.
