This year has started off with excitement in the Croll household.  My son graduated Air Force boot camp (aka Basic Military Training) on January 2nd and we traveled to San Antonio, Texas for his ceremonies.  The AF has this tradition called "tapping out" which means that the Airmen stand in formation until a family member comes down to the platform to "tap them out", only for most of us Moms that usually results in the BEST HUG EVER!  Here's mine ...

While my son has been in boot camp, I've been working on my Online Business Manager certification.  I decided last fall that I was ready to move from Virtual Assistant to Online Business Manager where my role will shift from "implementer" to "business manager" working for 2-3 select high-end clients.  I feel very blessed to be in a position to grow into this role with two fabulous clients that I've been working with for some time now.  My certification week is next week and I'm excited that I will be able to call myself a Certified OBM very soon!

This new role will bring lots of fun and challenges to my career.  One of those challenges initially is how to rebrand myself.  It wasn't all that long ago (July 2013) that I updated our website and branded it with a new look and new logo.  Now my challenge is to rebrand our site again without all the costs involved in starting over from scratch.

As you know, our team's Marketing Maven and Website Wizard, Patty Benton, is our go-to expert on this topic.  She and I have discussed what's involved with rebranding.  So in the coming months, we will be unveiling our newly "updated" site to you.  And in case you're wondering ... I will be branding myself as an Online Business Manager who comes equipped with an exceptional team of virtual professionals (yes my team is coming along with me in my new role).

If you've been thinking about branding for the first time or rebranding your current site, this month's article will be the perfect read for you.  It is on the topic of making sure your brand is up-to-date for 2015.  Be sure to read it and leave any comments you have on our blog post.  I look forward to hearing from you.

Is Your Branding Current for the New Year?
By Patty Benton, Marketing Maven & Website Wizard

It is another new year, and you are looking at your business, trying to determine what you want to do to improve your business this year. Is it time to add a new marketing strategy to your marketing plan? Maybe it is time to hire a Virtual Assistant team. Before you make any of these decisions, I recommend first looking at how you are presenting yourself to the world - your brand.

Many times, from the time we open our business to the present, our business has taken on a life of its own. It has headed in unexpected directions. When this happens, our branding tends to be out-of-date. Even if this hasn't happened, and your business has gone in the direction you clearly planned, your brand may need to be refreshed to look current and not outdated.

Here are three things to consider to determine if your brand is current with the times:
