NOVEMBER 2012

Greetings!

It's been a while since our last newsletter so I wanted to update you on what we've been up to ... the professional lives of the VWY Team have been busily working with fabulous clients providing virtual assistance, 1ShoppingCart, bookkeeping, newsletter/blog, speaker and performance engagement, web design and social media support.  (If you want to know what other services we provide, visit our website.)

And our personal lives have included major family transitions, getting married, moving households and surviving Hurricane Sandy!  There is so much to be thankful for this year as we celebrate Thanksgiving here in the U.S.

Here are the things I'm most grateful for:
  • Virtually With You has been at an all-time high for business this year.  Growing into a team was a smart move!
  • Our past and present clients - who are fabulous (might I brag?) and who help us to be the success we are.
  • My fabulous VWY Team: Lisa, Patty, Hollie and Paula.  They are so talented and dedicated to providing the highest quality services here at VWY.
  • My new logo that was developed earlier this year (thanks to my designer, Judy Leslie.  See it on my website and at the top of this newsletter. )
  • Marrying my amazing husband, Charlie, on October 21st!
  • Our kids: Ethan, Abi & Cody (who all get along well with each other - okay that's HUGE - right?)
  • For living in a country where we can enjoy such things.
Whether you are celebrating Thanksgiving or just being thankful for what you have been given, we wish for you abundant blessings and a successful 2013.

3 Keys to Speaker Success
by Lisa Coffey

Key to increased revenues
Speakers, is it time to get some revenue flowing into your company? Well, one of the best ways to do that is through Speaking Engagements.

The team here at Virtually With You have put together three keys to speaker success when you are ready to secure speaking gigs for your company.

Key #1: Be ready to invest and invest wisely! This is a crucial part of your success. We recommend that you add an item to  your monthly budget and have the item on your budget for the next 90 days. We have found that it takes at least 90 days to begin to see results.  Do your research and educate  yourself on what a fair price is for this kind of service.

Key #2: Have a list of contacts ready. This can be a tricky part of the process. You may already have a list, but do you know how solid those leads are? Do you have the direct number to the person you are wanting to speak to? For example, you want to reach someone in the events department at a College.  Do you actually have the number to the events department, or do you have the main number to the college itself? Well, if you have the direct number to the events department, this will save you time and money. But, if the person who is calling has to weed through the main line prompts, in order to get the events department, then the process could take them any where from 5 to 10 minutes. Providing your assistant with the direct contact information can save time and money ... and we all know "time is money".

Key #3: Have weekly "check ins" with the person or team member who is conducting the calls. This will allow you to understand where the process  stands, how many interested leads you may have, the different kinds of feedback that may be coming from those leads. But, most importantly, it will give you a chance to "brain storm" a new approach, if the current one is not producing as you had desired.

Thanksgiving is a time of quiet reflection upon the past and an annual reminder that God has, again, been ever so faithful.  The solid and simple things of life are brought into clear focus.
