Welcome Back to School!
On behalf of the City of Fairfax School Board, I would like to welcome you back to school.

For those of you new to our community, we want to remind you about our unique partnership with Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS).

The four schools in Fairfax City; Fairfax High School, Lanier Middle School, Daniels Run Elementary School, and Providence Elementary School, are operated by the excellent FCPS system. The buildings are owned by, and major improvements are made by, the City School Board. We welcome both City and County students in our four schools.

We work hard with our colleagues in FCPS to provide your children the best possible education, and tailor that education to the needs of our community. As a result, we believe our students get a world-class education in a neighborhood environment.

Again, welcome back and I hope you and your children have a wonderful 2015-16 school year. We welcome any questions or comments you may have - please feel free to email us at SchoolBoard@FairfaxVa.Gov.

Sincerely,
Toby Sorensen
City of Fairfax School Board
Chairman
