City of Fairfax Schools Honor Students

Our December Regular School Board Meeting is one of our favorite meetings of the year. In December and June, we honor some outstanding students, groups and teachers for exceptional work. Here are just some of the awards we presented:

  • FHS Cheer for 3rd Place at State Championships
  • 19 FHS National Merit Commended Scholars
  • 18 National AP Scholars
  • First Place Region Cross Country Alex Maguire 
  • Lanier Middle School Virginia Naturally School
  • FHS Field Hockey Regional Champions
  • Three Senior Honor Choir
  • Seven Senior Regional Orchestra
  • Four W!SE Gold Star Teachers - Financial Literacy Certification
City of Fairfax Schools Host State Legislators
Providence Elementary School and Lanier Middle School hosted Virginia State Senator Chap Petersen and State Representative David Bulova (pictured on right) on Thursday, November 20th. 

Providence ES Reading ICU Profiled in Fairfax Times

Providence Elementary School's fantastic Reading Intensive Care Unit was profiled in the Fairfax Times last month. The program supports first graders needing extra help in reading. To read the article in its entirety, please see the Fairfax Times website here.
