Greetings!
On behalf of Ninth District PTA we wish you all a wonderful holiday season. May you have health, peace, and happiness in the new year. Enjoy this time with your family and friends.
Thank you for all you have done this year for the children and families in San Diego and Imperial Counties.
Your gift of volunteer time makes our community better and we all benefit -- there is no greater gift than the gift of love and you have shared your love with a whole community. Thank you! We all look forward to working with you in 2013.

HISTORIAN CORNER
| | |
Steve Tutunjian, Historian
As we approach the New Year we have so so much to be thankful for; life in particular. The horrific Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy in Connecticut reverberated around the world. Even my daughter's friends in China expressed their sorrow and condolences. This can't help but make one reflect solemnly on how precious life is and how quickly it can be stolen from us.
Your contributions in supporting child advocacy with every one of your unselfish volunteer hours are testimony to your love of children and your judicious stewardship of their young lives. Never forget the impact your gift of self makes on bettering the lives of our kiddos by consistent advocacy of their safety and well-being. This is the hallmark of our PTA worldwide.
To document these volunteer hours, send your mid-year Historian Report by January 10, 2013. Include your volunteer hours through December 31 and high-resolution jpeg photos of one or two significant PTA events. Learn more.

Make and send snowflakes in tribute
Connecticut PTSA has met with the PTA and community leaders in Newtown and Sandy Hook to offer assistance. When school resumes for Sandy Hook, it will be in a new building. Parent-volunteers are working to ensure that the students are welcomed back by a winter wonderland with the entire school decorated with as many unique snowflakes as possible. We encourage senders to be as creative as possible, remembering that no two snowflakes are alike. Please make and send snowflakes by January 12, 2013 to the Connecticut PTSA 60 Connolly Parkway, Building #12, Suite 103, Hamden, CT 06514. Learn more.
