"Each leaf, each blade of grass vies for attention.
Even weeds carry tiny blossoms to astonish us."
~Marianne Poloskey, Sunday in Spring

While the rest of the country is still grappling with snow shovels and block heaters, we're enjoying the first blooms of spring and are itching to get out in our gardens again for another year.

There are lots of things growing in the Insights garden too, with a special emphasis this month on leadership development.  This was a very popular session at our December conference and we've supplied some additional resources to help you in your strategic planning.

For Client Practitioners, we've got a special Refresh session scheduled for March 25th.  If you're looking to add a bunch of new tools and exercises to your roster, don't wait to sign up for this full-day event.  And we're still collecting 'A to Z' exercises for team development so if you've been waiting to send your suggestion along, now is the time.

So we invite you to take five and catch up on the latest news from Insights Vancouver.
Leadership Development Matters
Insights Transformational Leadership Model
A well-attended session at our December conference was co-hosted by Jayne Tellier and Barry Christiansen of Insights Vancouver and focused on the strategic approach of leadership development. Attendees reviewed a case study featuring the City of Richmond, and representatives from the city shared key learnings and recommendations for developing leadership capacity within their organization. Other points included:

A study for The Center for Creative Leadership, Bersin & Associates which found organizations with strategic approaches to leadership development are:

  • 84% more effective at increasing the quality of their leadership pipeline,
  • 73% more effective at improving overall employee retention &
  • 67% more effective at increasing the engagement, retention and teamwork of leaders.

From Insights Discovery through to the Insights Transformational Leadership Model, this ninety-minute working session reviewed options for fast tracking your strategic approach to leadership development.

On our website we have provided links to a number of resources to help you enhance your leadership development strategy.  If you'd like to learn how Insights can help you in strategic leadership development, contact our office.

2015 Pricing Changes
Recent discussions with Insights Global have confirmed that pricing for some Discovery based materials will undergo a small increase in 2015.  As a bit of history, the prices for most Insights materials in Canada have not changed since 2007... which apparently makes our pricing changes happen every octennial!.

The recently announced increases will apply to all Insights offices around the world, and will be implemented over the next few months.  We will be connecting with all of our Client Practitioners in April with an updated price list and product catalogue.
A to Z Exercises
AZAt our December Conference, attendees received the A-Z Card Deck, with 26 exercises to improve the effectiveness of their teams.  We thought we'd have some fun and create our own deck of A to Z exercises.

We've already got a few submissions, so help us fill up the alphabet by sharing an exercise that works for you.  Drop us an email with the following details:
  • name of the Exercise,
  • overview,
  • learning objective,
  • materials required to run the exercise,
  • the estimated time required to run the exercise,
  • and instructions on how to run the exercise.

Or you can submit your exercise by filling out the form on our website.

We'll assemble your submissions and then make sure you get a copy of all 26 exercises that have been shared by members of our own Insights community.
