"If there is anything that we wish to change in the child, we should first examine it and see whether it is not something that could better be changed in ourselves."    Carl Jung

'Change' is an interesting concept.  Some people readily embrace it while others dig in their heels and refuse to participate.  As leaders and managers, we're often tasked with managing changes in the workplace where both extremes are evident.  As Carl Jung observed, in cases where change is seen as required, we need to first understand our own preferences and resistances before we can begin to understand why others may be responding in a certain fashion.

In some cases, the changes required by others are not nearly as transformative as the changes we make within ourselves.
Using Insights to honestly explore and understand ourselves is the first step in managing change of any kind.  If you'd like to examine the idea of change more fully, please
Learning to Flourish
Recently the Provincial Government has started working with Insights Vancouver and the Learning to Flourish program.  This is being rolled out to groups that in the past year have undergone a significant amount of change including re-organization and streamlining of processes.  These changes have moved the group out of their comfort zone and have manifested as increased stress, more sick time, and a less engaged workplace.

Joyce Gwilliam, President of Insights Vancouver, along with Cheney Creamer, Senior Learning Consultant, are working with these groups to re-examine how their personal preferences appear under stress, recognize the triggers at work, and identify practical remedies that can mitigate stress.   Together, they're developing individualized strategies to help group members shift their inner experiences of stress and distress to greater wellness.  Full-day workshops are followed by an eight-week program of application reminders to strengthen the learning, embed the concepts, and create a more resilient/engaged workplace.

If you would like to learn how to support the individual, team and organizational development of your organization by providing practical tools, strategies and methodologies for improved individual and team performance,
contact our office.  We're confident that Insights Vancouver can provide exceptional value in supporting the learning strategies of your organization.
Looking for a Refresh?

Insights Refresh is a professional development one-day interactive workshop for Client Practitioners who are committed to maintaining their Accredited status by keeping their learning alive.  While each program is adjusted to meet the needs of the registered participants, a typical day addresses questions such as:

  • What exercises can I use to reinforce key messages in a personal effectiveness workshop?
  • What do I need to remember when debriefing an individual's Insights Discovery Profile?
  • How can I apply other chapters in the Insights Discovery Profile?
  • What is common, and different, as you transition from an introductory workshop to Discovering Team Effectiveness or Discovering Leadership Effectiveness?
  • What's the difference between an integrated Insights learning strategy and single event workshops?
  • What new resources might fit with the needs in my organization?

The Insights Refresh is open to any Client Practitioner who has previously participated in an Insights Discovery Accreditation (IDA).

If you are unsure if you should attend this session, please contact your Client Manager or the Insights Vancouver office.

The next scheduled CP Refresh is April 2nd. To register for this session or learn more, click HERE.

May IDA Filling - Next IDA October

2013 isn't much different than other years - Insights Discovery Accreditation sessions fill up fast, and we start putting names on a waiting list in case there are last-minute cancellations.  This year, we're close to full so we'll soon start placing names of interested participants on our waiting list.  If you want to attend the May Accreditation, please contact our office immediately.

Insights Discovery Accreditations are held in Vancouver twice each year, and they're open to candidates who want to use the Insights Discovery system internally as part of their organizational learning and development strategy.  We also provide internal Accreditations for organizations that have 8 or more candidates.  If you or someone in your organization is considering Accreditation, please contact your Client Manager or the Insights office to discuss the Accreditation process.

The next scheduled Insights Discovery Accreditation begins May 6, 2013, and enrollment closes one month prior. Don't be disappointed.  Contact our office today for IDA registration details.
