To sell your product or communicate your brand, you need to know who your consumers are - and to find out, we often start with segmentations. However, while they excel at describing consumer groups, these necessarily artificial groupings often result in segments that are too flat and too prescriptive to drive new ideas and innovation in a meaningful way. Even initially useful segmentations tend to only be updated infrequently, leaving behind legacy insights that no longer apply to the changing market landscape; it's no wonder innovating off the back of segmentations is tough. Knowing all this, we should be looking for ways to make segmentations more effective, especially when it comes to innovation.
Join Richard Shaw, DigiVisionary, as he discusses not just the common problems associated with segmentation, but also new ways to approach them and better apply them to the fast-paced, granular demands of modern markets. In particular, Richard will showcase BrainJuicer's social media-based DigiVidualsŪ and walk through examples of how they have helped our clients make their existing segmentations better.
