Rector's Reflections
What is Easter anyway?

Christians consider Easter to be the "first day." From Easter comes the practice of worshiping on Sunday morning. It is the first day of the week. It is also the first day of new creation, sometimes called the "eighth day" of the week, for on it Christ restored the image of God in the human and in so doing also brought restoration and renewal to all of creation. The Easter season proceeds from and celebrates this first day. In the resurrected Christ, there is time after the end, life after death, restoration of what was broken, the brightening of what had gone dark. In the fifty days of Easter, Christian communities around the world strive to worship God in a way that illustrates that the body of Christ lives now in the heavenly places and also in the gathered body in the world. Worship is where heaven and earth meet. [Sundays and Seasons 2016]

I invite you to experience Easter, the first day, the day we say "This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." The day we celebrate God who has indeed raised from the dead the one who was put to death "by hanging him on a tree." the day the tomb is open and we reclaim saying and singing Alleluia! The day God allows Jesus to appear "to us who were chosen by God as witnesses" in holy baptism and the day we are each invited to eat and drink at the table of the risen Christ. Alleluia!

He Is Risen Indeed, Alleluia!

Communion During Eastertide

While the distribution of Holy Communion at All Saints' has traditionally been done by gathering and kneeling as one is able at the communion rail, standing is the more ancient practice and is
especially suitable for the Easter season. This year we will experience continuous communion, standing at a station on the floor by the baptismal font. You are invited to come forward and receive the bread from Pastor Bill and move to the side to receive the wine from a Eucharistic Minister. We stand to honor the resurrection (verses a more penitential kneeling) and to have a greater sense of the communion of saints that extends before us and follows after us. The communion continues and we are simply part of this open-handed cloud of witnesses receiving the life-giving bread of heaven and the grace-filled cup of salvation.
Guest Trumpeter
Please welcome our guest trumpeter, D. Randall Ouellette, currently living in Conway, NH with his wife Jennifer, and 2 active toddlers, Declan and Mac. He has also travele extensively in Europe, performed under Grammy award-winning conductor Dr. Robert Page, and recorded with the Eastern Wind Symphony under the Klavier and Masters labels with Alfred Reed. Randy also performs as the associate principal trumpet with the New Hampshire Philharmonic Orchestra.

He freelances across New England and also the New Jersey tri-state area for such noted individuals as Anthony Cardinal Bevilacqua former Archbishop of Philadelphia. Randy has also enjoyed performing at nationally recognized venues such as the National Constitution Center, and Capital Center for Performing Arts. Randy teaches extensively, and has seen many students go on to recognized awards and ensembles. He is currently teaching at the North Conway Music Center. Message from Creation Care Team
Something to think about this Easter Season-the amount of pesticides used to raise Easter Lilies with some suggested alternatives. We are bombarding our environment with chemicals harmful to God's creation including us. Can we take time to be mindful before we consume?
