Summer Fair

We had a wonderful summer fair, because again dozens of volunteers worked hard to sort, label, and sell items to a huge number of patrons who know that quality merchandise can be purchased at bargain prices.

Thank you to Harry and Pam Liedtke who served at Fair Chairs.  Harry and Pam guided us, and provided wonderful leadership.  Words fall short of expressing the exemplary job that they did.

The link to the slide show covering this year's fair is at the end of this email. Just click on the link, and then on Start Slideshow. You'll find in the approximate 15 minute slide show, numerous photos with captions and names of those who worked the fair as members of All Saints' Church. This will help our new rector as he begins to learn our names. Also, photos with captions and names were included of  the numerous people who do not attend our church, but volunteered to work the fair. You'll notice in the photos how many people are smiling, at least before fatigue set in. The sense of community and joyfully working together far outweigh any financial gains.  The music chosen for the slide show is positive and upbeat.  The music begins with Oh What A Beautiful Morning from Oklahoma, and ends with the 1930 classic,  Sunny Side of the Street.   With blue skies providing a backdrop for our fair, the music fits just fine.

The day of the fair, I returned to the church in the early evening to take a few more photos, and a church member was leaving after working for our church at a 4 p.m. wedding, and then setting up the alter for the Sunday service.   Her efforts added to the huge effort by so many at the fair, gave me a sense of pride and gratitude for those who work behind the scenes to make our church so special.

The first and last photos of the slide show depict our church in the early darkness with the light on the steeple.  In the first photo, our lovely church was waiting for the heightened and frenzied activity that would follow in the morning from the fair. The final photo depicts our church serenely waiting with anticipation for The Rev. Canon Hannah Anderson to present to our congregation our new Rector Bill Petersen, and his wife Kay.  These are exciting and historic days at All Saints'.

With a sense of gratitude, love for our church, and our new rector.

All Saints' 2014 Summer Fair:

 From the Music Corner

The picture below gives a taste of the fabulous vacation Ralph and I enjoyed locally, with family and friends.  This one sample reflects a day with our daughter Rachel, and husband Vitali, visiting for several weeks here in NH with us.  Castle in the Clouds was never more glorious !  I'm hoping that each of you are experiencing many delights of your own in this glorious summer season.

Clearly we are in a new and long-anticipated season of transition in welcoming our new pastor, Bill, and his wife Kay.  The excitement was palpable last Sunday as we all got our first taste of their presence in our worship service.  Joy and gratitude abound.

This coming Sunday, July 27th, we have the privilege of a joint service with Rev. Gina and our dear friends at FCCW.... and this time in THEIR brand new worship center!  Both choirs will be singing together once again, and I will accompany hymns and anthem on the delightful new Rodgers organ. Do plan to join us at the 10 AM worship service! And stay tuned for special musical offerings, and a dedication of our Kurzweil keyboard, all coming up in August.

Soli Deo Gloria!
