"Everything Lutheran" Forum

After last week's service, Mark Edwards gave a short talk on "Lutherans and Episcopalians: Working Together to Supply Rectors/Pastors for Churches." He then took about 30 related questions from the congregation, concerning our call of a Lutheran minister to All Saints' Episcopal Church. The video link to the discussion is at  wctv.ezstream.com and the audio can be found on the All Saints website.

Summer Fair  - July 19

Three weeks remain until the Fair! It is not too late to volunteer to help with the sorting/pricing prior to the Fair or to work on Fair Day. Please let the Fair Chairs know where you would like to help.

Silent Auction items are still needed. If you would like to contribute an item or a service to the Silent Auction please also contact the Fair Chairs.

Many thanks to all the volunteers and donors. We are looking forward to another wonderful and successful Fair.

Raffle Baskets Needed! The Summer Fair will include a Basket Raffle again this year. Donation forms are on the bulletin board in the undercroft or send an email to csundquist@roadrunner.com or call 544-2389 with information on the basket theme. We are starting a little late, so apologies for the short timeframe, but if you could let us know that you are donating a basket by July 1st and have the baskets at the church by July 5th so we can start selling tickets, it would truly be appreciated! Many thanks! Jan Smith and Carolyn Sundquist.

Fair Angels: This is a campaign for donating before fair takes place so that we start the fair debt free: tents and other expenses are paid for from these funds.

If you are interested in being a "fair angel", please contact Martha Cross at 569-9421.

From the Music Corner

As Ralph and I anticipate a summer holiday with family and friends, we pause to say "thank you" -- to God, and to all of you. These first 7 months serving in ASEC has been a challenging, exhilarating, joy-filled learning curve.  We pray for many more months to grow and serve with you, with our new rector, and our sister churches and community.  We are also very grateful to have celebrated 40 years of marriage on June 15th.  A gift we try not to take for granted.

This Sunday marks the end of a special era with Ted's venerated leadership, and the beginning of a new journey.  What will God have in store for us - in worship, in music, in education, in growth, in fellowship, in outreach?   Stay close to Him, and we will navigate the "bumps" together, and celebrate the triumphs .....  all in His Spirit of friendship, unity and community.

Join us this Sunday, June 29th for ONE service, with our FCCW guests, at 9 AM -  the choirs will bless us all with "Joy in the Morning" by Natalie Sleeth, and a lovely rendition of "Londonderry Air" set to a Christian text entitled "I Cannot Tell Why He Whom Angels Worship".  Other familiar hymns will raise the rafters, as we send off our beloved Ted with powerful worship and mixed emotions.

Godspeed in YOUR new journey, brother.  You will always be in our hearts and prayers.

Soli Deo Gloria!

Holly
