Your eNews editor's internet connection did not take kindly to the blustery day we had today. Please excuse the lateness of this week's edition. Thanks for your understanding!

Ted's Clever Pumpkin Head
Growing up in New York City, there was a fruit and vegetable store on the way to the corner where the school bus picked us up run by an Italian grocer. He made his Halloween pumpkin using the fruits and vegetables and when I started making them with our kids, his was the model I followed. Quite different from year to year but always with fruits and veggies.

Free Vision Screening 11/22

The Wolfeboro Lions Club will be visiting All Saints' Preschool on November 22nd at 10 am to offer a free vision screening to the children.

Any child in the area is eligible for this free screening. It is open to all children between the ages of 6 months and 5 years. This screening is done with a Welch Allyn Sure Sight vision machine, there is no contact with the child and no eye drops are used.

This is a community service offered by the Lions and tests can detect common vision problems including nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, strabismus, anismometropia, and cataracts, any of which can deter a child's intellectual and or physical growth process. Tests are interpreted by eye specialists Lori and Steve Kirwan of Wolfeboro Eye Associates. If you are interested, our preschool has permission slips that need to be filled out and

returned.

Kitchen Tour Thanks

A special thank you to all those who worked to make this first Kitchen Tour possible. We've learned a lot. While we might have wished for more visitors, those we saw were extremely complimentary about the tour and the lunch. Next year we'll put all that knowledge to good use. I want to thank the men who organized the parking and traffic flow. Thank you George Pacheco, Bob Pierpont, Wayne Ghirardini, Phil Wasmuth, and Andy Milligan. A big "Thank You" to Karin Hargy and her hard-working kitchen crew. The lunch was delicious, the tables a feast for the eyes, and the service was stellar. A special "Gracias' to the house captains, Louise Graham, Nancy Ghirardini, Linda Pacheco, and Carolyn Sundquist. A grateful "Bless You" to Al Greymont who built our sign posts and to Andy Milligan for printing all those signs. And finally "Thank you" to Georgia Mosher who helped me find the perfect source for the cute banner that advertised our tour. I wish I could name all the willing docents who greeted and entertained our guests. Those visitors were all very pleased with the warm reception they received. Thank you to each of you.
