In 1978 Father Rice was introduced to a form of Christian Meditation known as the Breath Prayer, a form of prayer very similar to the Jesus Prayer of the Eastern Orthodox tradition. Since then he has been inviting others to join him in meditating and sharing this journey in spirituality and contemplative prayer. Though it can be taught in about two minutes when the situation requires it, the introduction normally is stretched over four sessions of about one hour - the first traditionally takes a bit more time. This is done so a good foundation is laid, there is time for practice and sharing experiences. An on-going group which meets every several weeks or once a month often grows out of the original sessions. If you are interested in attending such a program, either call the parish office (603.569.3453) or email Father Rice so we can judge the level of interest and coordinate a time most convenient for the majority of those interested.

An Inquirers' Class is an opportunity for adults to learn more about the Christian faith and the Episcopal Church. We use this time, usually six to eight sessions, to invite participants to explore their own faith journey. Some of the participants may want to be involved in preparation for Baptism, Confirmation, Reception or Reaffirmation of their faith.  Others may simply wish to participate in a series of discussions of our faith which gives them an opportunity to explore all those questions they never had a chance to ask or for which no adequate answer was offered when the question arose during their youth.

During the sessions we would engage in a number of exercises that encourage reflection, explore the history of the Church and the Book of Common Prayer, and hear a few brief presentations. There will be discussions on the sacraments, prayer, service, and ministry. There will also be ample time to answer any questions one might have about the faith or the Episcopal Church. The All Saints Rector Search Committee is now seeking input from members of the church and the community at large about what you think would be important qualities in a new minister and our church in general.

The Nominating Committee for Vestry Membership has completed it's work. We are now aware of additional Parish members who are interested in seeking membership on the Vestry. Therefore, any Parish member who is 18 years of age or older may be nominated from the floor at the Annual Parish Meeting. Ballots will be provided with the names of the members originally recommended by the Nominating Committee along with space to write in any one nominated from the floor.

Dancing with the Community Stars, a fundraiser for Kingswood Theater and Wolfeboro Area Creative Arts Center, will take place on Saturday, January 19 at 7pm at the Kingswood Arts Center. (Snow date is Jan. 26)  The event will feature 7 pairs of dancers each composed of a professional dancer and a "community star".  Community stars include Dr. Shawn Silva, Dr. Harley Heath, Ethan Hipple and Allan Bailey.  Each pair will dance in a style and to music of their choice.  Judges, including Scott Giessler and Ray Lord, will give their feedback.  Audience members will be given a chance to vote for their favorite pair with their dollars.  The event will be emceed by Charlie Hossack and Patti Edson.  All for entertainment and two good causes.  Tickets are $10/adults and $5 for students and seniors and are available at www.kingswoodtheater.com, Black's Gift Shop and at the door.

Our preschool will be holding its Victorian Valentine Tea on Saturday 2/9/13 at 2 pm. Tea sandwiches and sweets. Fresh flower bouquet and valentine crafts. Door prizes and raffle featuring: American Girl Doll and many gift baskets. Raffle tickets can be purchased for $1 each or 6 for $5.

Parties who would like to sit together should buy tickets at the same time.  Tickets are $10 per person. If you wish to reserve tickets, please call the church office at 569-3453.
