This newsletter is meant to be informative and entertaining and a place where I can update fans on my current and upcoming projects.  As a writer, it takes months to bring a book to completion.  This newsletter is my effort to keep fans, supporters and loved ones informed.   Please share with the people you know who like to read.  If you're a writer, share your blog, website, Facebook and newsletter with me!

Welcome to the Heibel Media Newsletter
August 2015

July was a bit of a recession when it comes to writing.  I took some vacation time and wrote during vacation, but then took time off from writing which dealt a blow to the goals but not my self-confidence.  I'm down but not out and there are words being written so I have that going.

August is a month of establishing more writing time around new work commitments, completion of the first revision of When Love Breaks Down and submission of two flash fiction to an online contest.

Again I've put in the last thing I wrote as well as a slice from one of my books.

I hope you enjoy this update.

Thanks for your support!

Random Passages from My Books

Each month I'm going to give you a sample of my books direct from their pages.  I'll rotate through the books starting with my oldest writings to my newest.  Here's a bit from the first entirely new stories written after my 25 year break from fiction.  It's from New Blood which is a photo-graphic novel with pictures and narrative to tell the story.

"The following night, Emma went hunting alone with only one prey in mind. Her thoughts were anxious and

worried. What if Alyssa didn't come back to her? She entered Teazers Bar and looked up and down the bar and then

at the crowded tables and booths. No sign of her.

"She strode through the bar and ignored the compulsion to feed on the patrons whose blood smells filled her

nostrils. She found Alyssa alone at a pool table.

"'I knew you'd come back for me,' Alyssa whispered before planting a warm kiss on Emma's lips.

Emma's anxiety disappeared as if it never existed. The hunger that pained her earlier was gone. She took Alyssa's

pool cue and lined up a shot.

They played pool, kissed and talked for three hours and then walked out to the street. They wandered aimlessly hand

in hand, stopping to make out ever few hundred feet. They eventually found their way to the Sixth Street Park on the

Grand River.

"They embraced in the park and spoke of their undeniable attraction to each other. And there, Emma revealed

her true nature.

"Alyssa was intrigued, rather than frightened. She even felt the canine "fang."

"Alyssa was full of questions. But it was Emma's question toward the end of the night that changed

everything. Did Alyssa want to live forever?

 NEW FEATURE!
The Last Thing I Wrote

I thought it'd be fun to share something I had just written.  You'll get no context just the last 100 words of the last thing I worked on before putting out the newsletter.  This is from book 3 of the Gods' Powers Trilogy  The Magi Harvest.

"Your foolheartedness destroyed a family and we won't have any more of that," Montava said.  "I'll see you to Sanctuary where you will remain until the King deems you necessary elsewhere."

Montava grabbed his arm and Nagan pulled away.  He walked towards Montava's home.  Montava's wife frowned at him as he entered and turned away as he walked to the floor hatch.

Montava didn't follow him into the cave.  Nagan wandered over to the wives' chamber to find it empty.  Nagan walked over to the door leading to the forest meadow where the wives often took the children to play.
