Welcome to the Heibel Media Newsletter
October 2014

It's definitely fall with the colors on the trees and cold nip in the air.  But that's not why I'm shivering.  We're less than a month away from the launch of Reunion on November 4.  I'm taking pre-orders so I know how many books to get for the initial printing.  The book will be available as an ebook, softcover and hardcover print editions.  I'm so excited to see this book come to fruition.  I'm also nervous to see how it's received.

I received one response to a call for a Writers/Readers Group and this month I'm putting a call out to fellow writers with at least one self-published book.  Having trouble marketing?  I'm putting together a marketing group of authors who want to market their books.  I have some ideas that may work.  A start up meeting will be held Wednesday October 22 at 2 p.m. at WorkShoots.  Call or email me for details.

September closed out with Reunion finished and When Love Breaks Down, a two year project finished a first draft.  The new pages have slowed down considerably but as of this writing I have first drafts of FIVE new short stories that will debut in Will You Please Listen, Please a collection of short stories slated for 4.14.15.

Speaking of short stories, I am dropping the free short stories on the website for the time being.  I can't produce them fast enough to keep up and I want the book Will You Please Listen, Please to have some stories no one has seen or will see outside the book.  However, this month, I'm publishing an excerpt of Reunion.

Next month is November and the the return of National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo).  The goal is to write 50,000 word novel in November.  I'll start a new book Nov. 1 at 12:01 a.m.

So much more going on!  Read on!

More than 30 years ago I wrote a novel titled Stranger on the Beach.  I've since revised and updated it and called it Reunion.

The novel tells the tale of Pam Candleson and husband Ron.  The story begins five years in the past when Pam, then Pam Mondy, leaves her abusive husband Ray to start a new life with Ron who leaves his wife and two kids behind.  After confronting her husband, he dies in a terrible manner.

Front Cover of Reunion

In present day, Steve Thorndyke is a young man who travels back and forth from the Void between life and death.  He travels there to help a boyhood friend only to be possessed by Ray Mondy's spirit.  Ray is hell bent on revenge against his wife and her lover for his death.  Ray escapes Steve and disappears.

Six months later, Ray resurfaces at Bay Haven State Park when Ron and Pam show up there for a vacation reunion with Ron's two children, now teenagers.  Steve also resurfaces there in the hopes that he can thwart the terrible vengeance Ray has in store for the unwitting Candlesons.

Ray escalates the terrorizing of the Candleson's to an unforgettable climactic ending.
