HAPPY NEW YEAR 2014!

January 2014   



A new year calls for reflecting on what you did in the last year and what you're going to do with the new year. 

Well, last year I embraced my fiction writing and completed so much more than I thought I would.  I won the NaNoWriMo challenge; I wrote over 1,128 pages of new material and have written new material every single day since April 10!

I wrote 7 new short stories and published 4 of them.  I completed a revision of a supernatural novel, made significant progress on a contemporary drama and started writing a brand new novel.

I'll kick off the New Year by publishing my 5th short story.  And in a nod to NaNoWriMo, I'm going to see an annual goal of half a million new words--500,000 new words in 2014!  That will include starting the 2nd novel of the Metal Saga trilogy.  It also should be enough to complete 12 short stories in 2014. 

Also, I intend to finish the two first drafts of the novels underway.  I don't know that either will be finished for publication in 2014, but Reunion WILL BE FINISHED and PUBLISHED!
Also, look for my second collection of short stories, Will You Please Listen, Please, at the end of 2014.

So, looks like a very busy writing adventure in 2014.  I appreciate your following and feedback!

Baby Blues Revisited 


Baby Blues Revisited is February's short story release. 

The title comes from the original story Baby Blues about a new father's coming to grips with losing himself to bond with his son.  Baby Blues Revisited revisits the father when his son is a young adult and the father's grappling with whether he was a good father to his son.

The story will be released on Tuesday February 4.

 Write Goals for 2014  

 
  1. Write 365 Initiative.  100 days left and then I'm going to do it again! At least one new page, every single day!
     
  2. Half A Million Words:  I aim to write 500,000 new words in 2014.  An incredible goal of averaging 41,667 words a month or 1,370 words every single day.  I did over 60,000 words in November so I think this goal is doable.
     
  3. NaNoWriMo 2014.  November 2014, write a new novel of 50,000 words.  I'm doing it again!
     
  4. A new short story every month!  Through Dec. 2014 I plan to publish a new short story each month on the first Tuesday of the month.  Available to everyone!
     
  5. Write a blog entry every Tuesday and Friday at http://heibelmedia.blogspot.com
          
  6. Update the Write 365 Initiative on the website every Thursday at: http://www.heibelmedia.com/asiwrite365.html
