U.S. residential permits and starts top 1 million units in 2015
BUILDING PERMITS
Privately-owned housing units authorized by building permits in December were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1,232,000. This is 3.9 percent (±2.2%) below the revised November rate of 1,282,000, but is 14.4 percent (±1.2%) above the December 2014 estimate of 1,077,000.

400-Foot Tower At Folsom & Spear
in San Francisco
Currently, the plans call for constructing a twisty 40-story, 400-foot residential tower and an eight-story residential building with a total of 391 units on the 59,000 square foot lot. The developer is also planning 9,126 square feet of retail, 6,544 square feet of open space, 344 vehicle parking spaces and 150 bicycle parking spaces.
