Being a Contractor Just Got a Whole Lot Scarier

If you're fortunate enough to live and work in California you have a lot to be thankful for. Temperate weather, beautiful beaches, rugged mountains and an array of attractions whether you're an urbanite, outdoorsman or thrill seeker. ASAC'S Assembly Bill 1705
Signed by Governor!

The former bill, Senate Bill 293, limited retention to 5% on public projects. That is however, unless the project was deemed to be "sufficiently complex". Theoretically, a complex project would assume more risk. Also, that bill's retention cap policy was to expire in 2016.
