Pier T off-ramp to be demolished for
Gerald Desmond Bridge construction
LONG BEACH >> Starting Tuesday, motorists who use an off-ramp from westbound Ocean Boulevard to get to Pier T will have to drive an alternate route.
The Pier T Avenue off-ramp, part of which passes over Ocean Boulevard, will close for good at 11 p.m. to make way for the Gerald Desmond Bridge project.

Down the Water Hole
One day Grandma sent her grandson, Johnny, down to the water hole to get some water for cooking dinner. As he was dipping the bucket in, he saw two big eyes looking back at him. Fear stricken, he dropped the bucket and hightailed it back to Grandma.
When asked why he came back with no water, Johnny said, "I can't get any water from that water hole, Grandma! There's a big old alligator down there!"
"Now don't you mind that old alligator, Johnny. He's been there for a few years now, and he's never hurt anyone. Why, he's probably as scared of you as you are of him!"
"Well, Grandma," replied Johnny, "if he's as scared of me as I am of him, then that water ain't fit to drink!"
