WCA Sponsors New WisconsinEye Campaign 2016 Video Player

WCA is proud to be a sponsor of the new WisconsinEye Campaign 2016 video player, which contains an array of campaign events and interviews at the state and federal levels.  Wisconsin Eye has partnered with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and Gannett Wisconsin to deliver comprehensive campaign coverage.

The Campaign 2016 video player will contain an array of campaign events and interviews at the state and federal levels. Viewers will also have access to hundreds of in-depth interviews with candidates for the Wisconsin State Senate and Assembly, in both the primary and general elections.

All WisconsinEye interviews are conducted by WisconsinEye senior producer Steve Walters, a veteran State Capitol journalist. Steve was recognized in 2013 as "Wisconsin Journalist of the Year" by the Milwaukee Press Club, the first time an individual rather than a broadcast or news entity received the club's highest honor.

Latest WCA Podcast: Media 101 with Gwyn Guenther and Gail Sumi

Here at the Association, we often get questions regarding media relations and communications. As a local government official, it is an important part of your job to effectively communicate to the public.

Recently, WCA Communications Consultant/Principal at Thompson Communications Michelle Thompson sat down with Gwyn Guenther, President of The Wheeler Report and Gail Sumi, Member Engagement and Communications Director at the League of Wisconsin Municipalities, to discuss all things media.

In this comprehensive podcast, the three discuss a variety of topics such as pitching a story, social media advice, holding a press conference, and creating relationships with local media. This podcast is a great reference for any county officials and members looking to increase and positively impact their media relationships and presence.
