Departments from Around the State Gathered to Compete
The County Mutual and Community Insurance Corporation's 2nd Annual Advanced Law Enforcement Risk Training (A.L.E.R.T.) Law Enforcement Challenge was held Tuesday, October 1st in Lincoln County and Thursday, October 3rd in Sauk County.

Congratulations to all participants on what turned out to be a tough course and even tougher competition.  This year's winners are:

Lincoln County Location


1st Place: Anthony Schuett, Taylor County Sheriff's Department  
2nd Place:  Jason Stalker, Dunn County Sheriff's Department     
3rd Place: Kelly Jones, Price County Sheriff's Department
4th Place: Eric Staff, Trempealeau County  Sheriff's Department
5th Place: Roger Sir, Lincoln County



Sauk County Location

Sauk County Winners 1st Place: Bren Derringer, Wood County Sheriff's Department
2nd Place: Evan Mazur, Jackson County Sheriff's Department     
3rd Place: Richard Hoege, Columbia County Sheriff's Department
4th Place: Brian Kaye, Winnebago County Sheriff's Department     
5th Place: Nick Willis, Mt. Pleasant PD

Individual prizes were awarded to top finishers and cash prizes awarded to the top finishers' departments. The first place finisher's department received $7,500; second place $5,000 and third place $2,500.

The A.L.E.R.T. Law Enforcement challenge was FREE to member law enforcement departments of the County Mutual and Community Insurance Corporation and included a times skills challenge, a vendor fair and lunch.  In addition, sheriffs, chief deputies, firearms training officers, and law enforcement committee members, as well as chiefs, assistant chiefs, training officers and public safety committee/commission members were in attendance.
