APRIL 2016                                        E-NEWSLETTER
Autism Society serves individuals & families living with autism by providing support groups, resources,
information, education, social activities, scholarships, camps & recreational opportunities.
A Message from our President - Cindy Facteau
Hello San Diego!

We believe in Autism Acceptance!
April is here, which means it's Autism Acceptance Month (we're all "aware" by now, right?)! We have all of our usual support and recreation opportunities throughout the month planned, but I'd like to invite you all to attend our annual Splash for Cash event on Sunday, April 24th. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year for our aquatics programs, including lifesaving adaptive swim lessons, our monthly pool and gymnastics parties, and our annual all-inclusive Surf Camp. Please see below for more information!

We also have a new, closed Facebook group designed to give local autistic adults a way to connect in addition to our monthly social support groups. Please check our Facebook page for more information. The group is open to autistic adults in San Diego county only, and all members must be approved by the admin in order to maintain confidentiality .

Our February Adult Autistic Social Support Group had a great time at our February meeting at Dave & Busters.
As both an autistic adult and parent of autistic children, I want to thank you all for creating such an incredible hub of support and opportunity here in San Diego. I'm honored to be part of such a diverse and inclusive community.

Have a great month!
Cindy Facteau
