Everyone is quite aware of many problems with the rollout of the new health plans. The computer glitches, not only at at Covered CA, but with almost all the insurance carriers along with the upfront payment for health insurance, have caused many Californians to delay the enrollment for 2014 to the month of December. Unfortunately, these last minute enrollments, are testing the system of all the insurance carriers struggling to make a January 1st 2014, enrollment possible. These applicants are demanding a confirmation that there enrollment is active, with only few understanding why carriers cannot confirm the application at once. However, given the case that the carriers  are processing hundreds of thousands of applications at this last minute; Californians have to be patient and check their bank accounts to see whether the money have been withdrawn from their accounts. Covered Californian enrollees need to be aware that their applications will be transferred to the elected insurance carrier. After that the insurance carrier will  sent a letter of payment request to the enrollee. I suggest you wait  7-10 days from the day of enrollment and than contact the insurance carrier if a payment can be given online or over the phone. Insurance carriers are allowing that payments are received as late as January 6th to still have a January 1st enrollment. The fact is that the sheer volume of applications delayed the confirmation process and your patience is now been asked. 

Please be aware that there are 3 more months that Californians can apply to receive guaranteed issued health insurance without receiving a tax penalty.
