Battle of the Bands

During the previous festivals, the Saturday Battle of the Bands has been between one northern band and one southern band.  This summer, to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Civil War, there will be six bands trading songs on opposite banks of the Cannon River: 26th North Carolina and Newberry's Victorian Cornet Band will be representing the Confederacy and 1st Brigade Band, Independent Silver Band, Century Brass, and Frontier Brigade Band will be playing music from the Union side.  You won't want to miss it!

Your Donation is Essential

The VBF budget breakdown is like this: 55% grant money, 45% advance private and corporate donations, and 23% cash donations during the festival. We've already hit the target for grants and the onsite donations will happen during August. What we're working on now is the advance private and corporate donations. We've reached the 20% mark toward that goal, but that leaves a fairly big gap to fill between now and the Festival.

Please take a moment and visit our secure online giving portal today to make your contribution. The Festival only happens because of fans like you!
