Help Us Plan the Future!

Every three years the Hinsdale Public Library surveys the community to help ensure that we continue to deliver what the community needs.

Tell us what matters the most to you and your family! Please take a brief survey about Library services. The survey takes about five minutes to complete and closes July 2.

Participants will be entered in a drawing for a $100 gift card from Whole Foods Market.

Summer Art Exhibit
The Story of a Sculpture by Patricia Potokar

June 2 through August 28

Every artist develops a series of steps that helps the creative process evolve. These steps are not linear; they are cylindrical. As a photographer, teacher, and artist, Pat Potokar saw the opportunity to document Barbara Cooper's work as she created a commissioned sculpture for the Library. Wrapping her head around the context and history of Hinsdale, Cooper began the creative process in her Chicago studio. Witness Cooper's journey documented in Potokar's photographs. The exhibit, located in the Quiet Reading Room, is free and open to the public.

Pat Potokar has been a certified Art faculty member at Hinsdale Central and South High Schools, teaching photography, video, and design for eighteen years. Pat holds a Bachelor of Art from the University of Illinois at Chicago in Photography and Graphic Design, and advanced degrees from Dominican University, Benedictine University, and a Master of Art in Art Education from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Before earning her teaching degrees, Pat worked as a designer in Chicago-area design firms for two decades. She has been a member of the Library's Art Committee since 2012.
