New Alumni Hall of Fame Inductees
OLCHS is planning for its 20th and 21st Hall of Fame inductions.  Jayne Saniat and Jim Dague will be inducted on Friday, October 23, 2015, during the school's Annual Fall Musical. Saniat is a 1982 Oak Lawn graduate and Dague is a 1984 graduate.

Saniat was involved in theater, speech, cheerleading, and choir while attending Oak Lawn. She consistently demonstrated leadership as a member of both Student Council and Class Advisory Board. After graduating high school, Saniat attended The Goodman School of Drama at DePaul University before transferring to Illinois Wesleyan, where she earned her bachelor's degree in theater education.

Dague was involved in speech and theater while attending Oak Lawn. He was an ongoing officer in the Thespian Society and was crowned Most Outstanding Forensics Team member and
Most Outstanding Thespian. He was also involved in the music department and art department, which provided the foundation which served him in his career.

In 2001, Dague founded The ScribbleBooks Company, Inc. featuring ScribbleMonster, a children's book and music series introducing kids to the joy of creating. Saniat has partnered with Dague and the company has steadily grown over the years. Dague and Saniat have taught and entertained countless children performing as ScribbleMonster throughout the nation. They have contributed to four full-length CDs and several singles acclaimed by the likes of National Public Radio and Parenting magazine. ScribbleMonster has earned national recognition, with three #1 hits on the Sirius/XM Radio channel Kids Place Live, as well as several Top 5 hits. Additionally, ScribbleMonster has developed and presented a variety of musical early childhood STEM/STEAM programs for the Chicago Public Library. Their past performances include the Kidzapalooza Stage at Lollapalooza, the Sirius/XM Studios in Washington, DC, and a Jerry and Jessica Seinfeld event in the Hamptons.

Both Saniat and Dague credit their appreciation for music, theater, and the arts to the opportunities they had as students at Oak Lawn Community High School. Saniat and Dague champion children with special needs, are passionate about serving the underserved, and aim to inspire the creativity of the next generation's innovators.

In an effort to provide community-based experiences for students, Special Education teachers Colleen Conway, Kelly Rumel and Karen Gannon, accompanied by chaperons Eric Kelly, Denise Dalia, and Eileen Sauder, took their students to the Palos Heights Police Department. There the students were greeted by Oak Lawn Community High School alum George Drikos and Oak Lawn Community High School retiree Pat Land. Officer Drikos gave the students a tour of the offices, workout facility, cells, fingerprinting machine, and police car garage. Officer Drikos provided the students with T-shirts.

Afterwards, the group visited Lake Katherine Nature Center.  They toured the indoor Nature Center where students viewed snakes, rabbits, turtles, plants, and trees. The group also hiked around the lake. The students concluded their day with lunch at Wendy's in Palos Heights.
An English component was added to the experience when students wrote thank you notes to Officer Drikos and the employees at Wendy's.
