Lightning Strikes Again in Oak Lawn
|
The Oak Lawn Swim Association (OLSA Lightning) won their 2nd consecutive conference championship. On July 11th, 5 teams and almost 250 swimmers ages 5-18, converged on Oak Lawn Community High School. Teams in attendance were Bradley Bourbonnais Swim Club, Eisenhower Sea Demons, Oak Forest Barracudas, OLSA Lightning and Tinley Park Thunder.
At the start of the meet Oak Forest, Tinley Park and Oak Lawn set the pace early with all teams finishing well in the medley relays, as the events moved on Oak Lawn and Tinley Park set the stage for and exciting finish with Oak Forest dropping out of contention for the win. Going into the final ten 200 freestyle relay events, Oak Lawn was down a few points. In the final relays, OLSA finished with enough points to overtake a powerful Tinley Park team. This is the third conference championship since the team was started only four short years ago. For information about being a part of the OLSA Lightning swim team, visit olsalightning.org.
