iPad/Textbook Pick-up Information

Families that have completed the online enrollment verification process by

Monday, July 27, 2015, at 10PM, will be eligible to select an iPad/Textbook pick-up session for as early as August 4, 5, or 6. iPad/Textbook pick-up session can be selected online after the Enrollment Verification Steps 1-4 have been completed. Please refer to the June 1, 2015, Enrollment Verification Letter for more information.  

 

Families who complete the online process after July 27, 2015, will be limited to selecting iPad/Textbook pick-up sessions for August 11, 12, or 13. Only the student is required to attend the iPad pick-up session.

 

Families requiring Internet access at the school, personal assistance, payment plans, fee waivers, free/reduced lunch applications, or have unique residency validation requirements, must attend one of the following dates:

  • Tuesday, August 4, Noon - 6:00PM
  • Wednesday, August 5, 10:00AM - 4:00PM
  • Thursday, August 6, Noon - 6:00PM

The families attending these sessions will be eligible to select an iPad/Textbook pick-up session for August 11, 12, or 13. Only the student is required to attend the iPad pick-up session.

 

If a family doesn't have any of the above needs, they should complete the process online by Monday, July 27, to be eligible to pick-up their iPad as early as August 4, 5 or 6.

 

As outlined in the June 1, 2015, Enrollment Verification Letter, the process can be completed online without a parent/guardian ever visiting the campus. Once the process is completed, students can select their iPad/Textbook pick-up session and attend the session without their parent/guardian. iPad Protection Plans Available Until August 18

Oak Lawn Community High School is providing and administering a protection plan for students and parents as part of our 1:1 iPad program. Enrollment in the OLCHS administered program is optional with the understanding that parents/students carry the full liability if no protection plan is selected. To participate in the OLCHS iPad Protection Plan you will have the option to purchase into the plan during registration through the online OLCHS Webstore (RevTrack). Coverage must be purchased on or before Monday, August 17, 2015 (midnight), in order to be eligible for this school year.

 

The OLCHS plan covers "accidental damage" to the device and is designed to limit a family's financial responsibilities for any damages as described in the protection plan section below. The current price to replace an iPad is $500.

 

Program Fee/Coverage: a) Non-refundable fee: $25 (fee will not be prorated for partial years or semesters, is not eligible for fee waiver nor payment plan); b) Annual Benefit Limit: $1,100; c) Coverage: Repair/Replacement of school issued iPad; d) Effective Date: Based on payment of fee; and f) Expiration Date: Last day of school year or date of withdrawal.

 

Coverage: a) Accidental Damage: Pays for accidental damage caused by liquid spills, drops, or any other unintentional event. Insurance plan is voided if iPad is not protected by a case; b) Theft: Pays for loss due to theft; the claim requires a police report to be filed; c) Fire: Pays for damage of the iPad due to fire; the claim must be accompanied by an official fire report from the investigating authority; d) Electrical Surge: Pays for damage to the device due to an electrical surge; and e) Natural Disasters: Pays for loss or damage caused by natural disasters.  <<read more>>
