Drama Team Brings Home 4th Consecutive State Title

On March 28, Oak Lawn Community High School, earned its 12th State Championship title in the school's history. The Drama/Contest Play cast and crew were crowned State Champions by the Illinois High School Association for the 4th consecutive year. Congratulations Spartans!

Public performances of the state winning program are scheduled for April 9-11 in the Little Theater at 7:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $10 by calling the ticket hotline at 708/424-5200 x5920 or for $12 at the door. A complimentary show for parents, staff members, and senior citizens is scheduled for Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at 7:00 p.m.

Updated School Calendar

With four days of classes cancelled by inclement weather, the OLCHS website calendar has been adjusted to reflect the tentative end of the year changes. Final exams will be administered to freshmen, sophomores, and juniors on Tuesday, June 2, Wednesday, June 3, and Thursday, June 4, 2015. Please make note of the calendar changes.

SADD Fundraising Event at Potbelly Sandwich Shop

SADD is hosting a fundraising event at Potbelly Sandwich Shop on April 8, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Potbelly will donate 25% of sale to support SADD.

National Honor Society Supports St. Baldrick's

The St. Baldricks Foundation is the largest private funder of childhood cancer research. It is the foundation's mission to provide funding for research solely involving childhood cancers.

National Honor Society has supported the annual head-shaving event for the past six years. Many students and staff members have shaved their heads to garner awareness for this cause. This year's event took place on Monday, March 16, 2015, during all student lunch periods. With the proceeds from this year, OLCHS has raised over $20,000 in support of finding a cure for childhood cancers.

NHS sponsor Jessica Nickless said, "This is a phenomenal organization that works tirelessly to help children beat cancer. I am very proud that NHS and OLCHS can play even a small part in helping. Every cent raised is a step in the right direction." <<read more>>
