Oak Lawn CHS - there's an app for that!

As part of our ongoing commitment to communicate with stakeholders, OLCHS partnered with SchoolMessenger on the development of our very own app. Download the app now for your smartphone or smartdevice using these links or search for the app by name, Oak Lawn CHS - in the Apple App Store and Google Play for Android.

The app is designed to provide easy access to school and district information including calendars, sports schedules, notifications, social media, and more. And this is just the beginning. Based on your feedback we envision continuing to build out the app to meet future needs. Download the app and be sure to tell others to do the same!

Email Assistant Principal Mr. McCurdy at jmccurdy@olchs.org to suggest content that should be added to make the app more useful.  <<read more>>

Candlelight Bowl Planned to Help Athletic Programs

The athletic department has teamed up with the Spartan Booster Club to host its inaugural, "Spartan Friends & Family Candlelight Bowl" fundraiser. This event will take place at Palos Lanes, located just northeast of 111th and Southwest Highway in Palos Heights, on Saturday, January 11, 2014, starting at 6 p.m.

The event will include three games of bowling, a dinner buffet, and great raffle prizes. There will also be a special drawing for our athletic programs where the winning program will take home a portion of the night's proceeds (approximately $400-$500). Every person who comes to the event will enter their program in the drawing, and at the end of the night, we will pull the winning program's ticket. If any program has fifteen supporters at the event, it will have that program entered in the drawing fifteen times. If a child represents multiple sports, he/she will represent all of them.

This event is a 21-and-over event with a cash bar. For thirty-five dollars participants will enjoy the bowling, dinner, and a complimentary raffle ticket. For twenty-five dollars participants will enjoy the dinner buffet and raffle ticket. There is a six-person limit per lane, so please reserve a lane quickly. In order to reserve a lane, there must be a deposit of at least one-hundred and five dollars, which covers half of the total lane cost. Any remaining open lanes on the night of can be purchased at the door as well as all non-bowling tickets. Please contact athletic director, Kevin McKeown, at 708/741-5623 for more details pertaining to the event. All proceeds will go to Spartan athletic scholarships, uniform and equipment upgrades, as well as athletic facility improvements. Copies of the registration form and flyer are available on the Spartan athletic Facebook page as well as the Oak Lawn Community High School webpage. Thank you for your time and consideration and, GO SPARTANS!  <<read more>>
